Forget me Knot
Reviving Garments
Forget me knot is a brand that introduces the concepts of reparation and repurposing of garments to show our conscious efforts towards an ethical social supply chain of garments and supplies. To aid in the rise in the overconsumption of materials resources in the fashion industry. We aim to revive garments by upcycling apparels through the methods of mending and remaking with old garments, materials that are being disregarded by others, as well as converting ghost nets and waste materials found in the sea into reusable fibers. Through these efforts, we hope to also raise awareness on the ecological destruction of the marine environment and the increased depletion of Earth’s resources caused by the fashion industry.
As our brand strives to bring the mindset of reviving garments and remaking to give them a second life. We hope to bridge the gaps between menders and the industry by providing an outreach through workshops and campaigns. This community of people will aid in emulating the teamwork nature of weaving of fishing nets in the past that help build togetherness. This community of people that we aspire to build will encompass shared values, beliefs and skills. This allows them to educate people through the reparation and repurposing craft activities, thus helping the industry and our community to move towards a more environmentally ethical way of working whilst forging bonds between people in the process.
